WebFeb 13, 2010 · Another option- Yamaha sells a GYTR heavier flywheel. The inertia comparasions are different, but my seat of the pants inertia comparsion is that the GYTR flywheel is about the same as a 7oz Steahly weight. The FWW is faster to swap out, but it will require the use of a LH engine cover spacer (included in the Steahly FWW kit).

WebFeb 16, 2003 · 2003 YZ250. I have the 9oz weight and it took my bike from a 2nd-3rd gear bike in the woods to a 3rd gear. I had problems lugging the bike in 3rd and stalling it. Has not happened even once since I got the flywheel weight. I also put on a 49t rear sprocket and a FMF gnarly pipe/shorty silencer. I used to ride a 2002 KTM 200.

This had a smooth pull from the bottom through the mid and revved forever on top. I needed a pipe anyway, so it was worth a shot. It did smooth out the powerband a little bit, but the stock pipe was very good on this bike.
