The game lets us play as him to amp up the story – it would be rather boring to watch all the major shootouts and dramatic discoveries through a series of cutscenes whilst Cole goes around solving house fires. They sorta make fun of this every time he meets someone they comment on how he suppose to be a smooth talker and no nonsense because he is PI. It was fun to play as him but, I dunno I kinda like Cole a little better.
